Children’s Liturgy Needs You!

Are you interested in helping our children grow in their faith? If so, being a leader or assistant for our Youth Liturgy Program is for you! We need volunteers for all Masses on the third Sunday of each month from September through May. No skills are necessary, just a desire to inspire children with the Words of Christ. All materials are provided and your commitment is just once a month for 20 minutes during Mass. Preparation for leaders is less than one hour.

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Pat Knight at jknight106@aol.com or call 755-6120.

Catechists and Assistants needed for PRE

Catechists and assistants are needed for the 2018-2019 Parish Religious Education program (PRE). The heart of our program is the dedication of our catechists and their willingness to share their faith with our children.

Our catechists teach in teams of two with a teen assistant for 3rd grade and below. All lesson plans and materials are provided for you and all fees are waived for the children of our volunteers. Email or stop by the Religious Education Office to see what opportunities are available. We can show you curriculum and lesson plans that will help you choose the grade that is best for you. Please prayerfully consider joining us in this very important teaching ministry.

For more information, please contact Betty Siano at betty.siano@stfrancismemphis.org or call (901) 756-1213.

Room in the Inn – Summer Schedule

St. Francis Room in the Inn Continues May through September – Third Thursday of the Month – SIGN UP NOW!

Last November through March of this year, St. Francis joined with other churches in the Memphis area to serve those experiencing homelessness and invited the homeless to be our guests at our Room in the Inn, every Thursday night at the Ozanam Center (St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen), located at 1306 Monroe.

The “Inn” crowd at St. Francis has decided to continue the program during the upcoming Spring and Summer months by serving as a shelter for women on the third Thursday of each month- through September.  There are very few places that women can find shelter and safety in Memphis, so the St. Francis “Inn” will be part of the effort to solve that problem. 17 other churches have signed on (and others are contemplating) so Room in the Inn (RITI) as a whole should be able to shelter at least 12 women each weekday night during these five months. The regular program will resume in November.

Room in the Inn offers food and shelter to those in need of our aid. You can assist in this endeavor by preparing and/or serving dinner or breakfast, sharing in fellowship, arranging sleeping quarters or serving as a Laundry Angel. There is a job for everyone!

If you are unable to give your time, you may also help by donating much-needed supplies or by making a monetary donation.

To sign up click: RITI Signup.

To donate supplies, please check out the Room in the Inn Wish list on Amazon.com:    RITI WISH LIST.

To make a monetary donation, please click on the green giving link on the Homepage, and then select Room In the Inn under the list of  “Second and or Misc” collections.

For more  information, please call Jim Burge at (901) 254-1595 or the church office at (901) 756-1213.

Come join us!  Be part of the “Inn” crowd!
