Note the above Mass times are for December 24th, which this year is the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

Attending one of these Masses does NOT fulfill your Christmas obligation, but is required for your Sunday obligation.

The Parish Office and Parish Life Center will be closed Christmas Week, Monday– Friday, December 25—29.



Installation of Fr. Carl Jude Hood – Sunday, December 3rd, 12:15 PM

Please join us Sunday, December 3rd at the 12:15 PM Mass as Fr. Carl Jude Hood is officially installed as the pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, D.D.

A reception will follow immediately after in the Parish Life Center, room 108.


Baptism Preparation Class – Thursday, November 30th

Please note that this will be the LAST Baptismal Preparation class in 2017.  The next class will be held in January, 2018.

The class will be in room 113 of the Parish Life Center at 7:00 PM.  Godparents are always welcome, but are not required to attend.

We ask that you please make childcare arrangements as it is not provided.  We further ask that you do not bring your children to the class so that other participants are not disturbed.

Anyone wishing to participate should register for the class by calling the  parish office at (901) 756-1213 no later than 12 Noon on Tuesday,November 28th.  A count of participants is needed in order to prepare materials and to determine if there is a sufficient need for a class this month.

First Friday Eucharistic Adoration – December 1st

St. Francis of Assisi Church will offer exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Friday of December  – December 1, 2017.  Exposition will begin in the chapel immediately following the 8:15 am Mass and will continue until Benediction at 5:30 pm.  All are welcome to join us in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  First Friday Adoration would be a wonderful opportunity to pray for them.

Lector Training – CANCELLED




The Lector Training Level I class originally scheduled for Saturday, Decembr 2nd has been cancelled.  It will be rescheduled in the Spring of 2018.


Room in the Inn Has Begun! Be Part of the “Inn” Crowd


St. Francis’s Room in the Inn continues through March, 2018

St. Francis is joining with other churches in the Memphis area to serve those experiencing homelessness. St. Francis invites the homeless to be our guests at the Room in the Inn, every Thursday night through the end of March, 2018, at the Ozanam Center (St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen), 1306 Monroe.

We offer food and shelter to those in need of our aid. You can assist in this endeavor by preparing and/or serving dinner or breakfast, sharing in fellowship, arranging sleeping quarters or serving as a Laundry Angel. There is a job for everyone!

If you are unable to give your time, you may also help by donating much-needed supplies or by making a monetary donation.
