Baptism Preparation Class – Thursday, August 22nd

The next Baptismal Preparation class for parents wanting to have their child Baptized at St. Francis is Thursday, August 22nd, at 7:00 pm in the Parish Life Center, room 112.  Both parents should attend. Godparents are always welcome, but are not required to attend.

Anyone wishing to attend this class should register by calling the parish office at (901) 756-1213 no later than 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, August 20th.  Please note that if the class is not full, it will be rescheduled, so if you are interested in attending, or plan to attend, PLEASE call the church office and register.

Hour of Prayer

You are invited to join Fr. Johnnie Smith on Monday evenings at 7pm in the Church as he leads an Hour of Prayer for those affected by recent acts of violence, and for our nation.

Room in the Inn Summer Nights, May thorugh August – Sign up Now!

St. Francis Room in the Inn Summer Session Begins May 16th!

Room in the Inn’s summer sessions begin May 16th and continue through the middle of August. On Thursdays, St. Francis serves those experiencing homelessness, inviting them to be our guests at the Ozanam Center (St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen), located at 1306 Monroe.

Room in the Inn offers food, shelter, and a shower to those in need of our aid. You can assist in this endeavor by considering any of the following opportunities below to serve.  There is a job for everyone!

You can serve by:

  • Driving the bus and picking up our guests
  • Greeting our guests
  • Making beds
  • Organizing the clothes closet
  • Arranging hygiene items
  • Preparing the showers
  • Setting tables
  • Cooking delicious, nutritious food
  • Baking scrumptious desserts
  • Setting tables or making lunches
  • Doing laundry
  • Serving as an overnight shepherd and spend the night with our guests
  • Making the guests feel welcomed and loved
  • Sending off full, clean, and well-rested guests in the morning with a smile!
  • Cleaning up the center to get ready for the next group

If you are unable to give your time, you may also help by donating much-needed supplies or by making a monetary donation.
